1. General Policy and Proceedures

    1. When in game, all members must represent the guild in a positive manner.
    2. Ghosts of War is a need-before-greed (NBG), DKP guild. Need-before-greed means that one must need the item on the character that is bidding, will use it on that character regularly, and the item is a comparable upgrade for that character, be that improved stats or resists.
    3. Official guild raids are held from 7:30pm - 11:30pm Eastern on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
    4. 70% attendance over any given 30 day period is required.
    5. When on raids, all members are expected to give 100%. There is no room in the high end game to slack off.
    6. We use Ventrilo. It is mandatory that members must be able to at least listen on vent during raids.
    7. We are a guild of adults who do joke around quite a bit, if you are easily offended by foul language or the occasional "off color" joke, this is not the guild for you.
    8. Rules are subject to change, with notification, at the Officer's discretion. Reasonable efforts will be made to include guild members in discussions of policy changes, but guild leadership reserves the right to make changes as needed for the good of the guild.
    9. We do not allow alts in other guilds without leadership's permission.
  2. Applicants and Recruits

    1. Recruitment Requirements

      1. When registering on the forums please either use your main characters name, or change your displayed name to your main character's name in your profile settings.
      2. Applicants must be 18 or older at time of application to Ghosts of War, or be able to deal with the mature chat we use in game.
      3. Applicants MUST be unguilded and not currently applying to any other guild
      4. Applicants must be a minimum adventure Level 80 with a minimum of 100 AA's
      5. Applicants must speak and read English fluently.
      6. The character seeking membership must be the your main, or the character you plan on playing as your main in the guild.
    2. Recruitment Period

      1. The recruitment period begins with a posted application and generally lasts 2 weeks.
      2. During the recruitment process we ask that applicants try to make all the raids. This will help us better see the recruit's abilities in action. Your raid attendance during the 2-week application period will be taken into serious consideration during this vote. Do not post an application before going out of town on vacation or any other period of inactivity.
      3. Applicants will be invited to join the guild but will be flagged as a recruit.
      4. Recruits will receive DKP for their raid attendance.
      5. At the end of this two-week period, applicants will be voted on by guild members for potential full membership.
      6. During the recruit's vote, if a member votes no, they must post why at the time they vote in the thread with the poll.
      7. A recruit must receive 70% yes votes to become a member
      8. On some occasions and for various reasons a recruit may be informed that their application/recruitment period has been extended. Extension will only take place once and for only a one-week period. If after that the guild is still not comfortable with the recruit we will part ways.
      9. On the first poll, if a member receives 70% or more no votes, they will be asked to leave.
      10. If their application is extended and they receive more than 30% no votes on the second poll, they will be asked to leave.
      11. Recruits should never take offense when another member in the guild offers advice on how to do something. We expect recruits to listen and be able to take constructive criticism. WE are here to better the raid, we are not here as an individual.
  3. Raids and Attendance

    1. Attendance

      1. We understand and want members to have a life beyond EQ2. This is why we only raid 4 nights a week.
      2. Five minute breaks are announced approximately 30 minutes after the hour, each hour, by the raid leader. Members should not go afk at any other time during a raid except for emergencies.
      3. If you know you be unable to make a raid, you must post an MIA as soon as possible before raid time. Please do so in the appropraite board.
      4. We take Unposted MIAs Seriously
        1. After the first unposted MIA, you will receive a warning and will need to review the unposted MIA policy with th guild leadership
        2. After the second unposted MIA, you will lose 400 DKP.
        3. After the third unposted MIA, you is placed on Non-Raid Status for 4 weeks, and will receive a temporary DKP loss. This loss will be rather large.
        4. If this policy is abused, you will need to talk with the raid leaders and officers to see if Ghosts of War is the best guild for you.
      5. If you fall below 70% raid attendance you sacrifice your priority to be included in raids.
      6. "Sitting" will not affect members' attendance record, unless they abuse this priviledge
    2. Raid Readiness

      1. Be at the zone in, or be at the designated area 15 minutes before the raid
      2. Have enough food and drink for the entire raid.
      3. Have all gear at 100%
      4. Have enough coin to cover repairs including the possibility of multiple repair bots.
      5. Have the appropriate back up and resist gear available.
      6. Have already purchased and have in one's inventory, any items required to maximize your performance on that particular raid. This could include but is not limited to Miracles and Blessings, Potions, poisons, Status Items.
      7. Have the ability to make yourself invisible or stealth
    3. Raids are formed based on:

      1. Class Need
      2. Skill and Ability (the A-Team will be chosen for certain zones)
      3. Ability to stay the entire raid
      4. Quest update needed
      5. Who ever has most recently sat from a raid
      6. Members may be asked to sit who are late or volunteer to sit based on class balance due to turnout. This decision is solely that of the raid leader(s).
    4. Ventrilo During Raids

      1. We understand and appreciate people like to give input, however rambling on Vent during a raid too often leads to confusion, miscomprehensions and lost battles.
      2. Only the Raid Leader or person designated by the raid leader may make calls during the raid. This includes but is not limited to calls for the raid to wipe, heals to certain people, feigns, etc.
      3. It is imperative that we do not clog vent with random chat during battle and when raid commands are being given as this leads to frustration, confusion and needless wipes.
      4. If an officer or raid leader at any time asks to quiet vent, please comply immediately.
      5. We are not trying to tell people they can't have fun and talk. There is simply a time and place for this to be done, but not in the middle of fights or strategy sessions.
    5. Learning a new mob

      1. We will get a several pulls on the new mob so that everyone in raid needs to visualize and get as much info as possible.
      2. We then will have the entire raid discuss what they see and give opinions.
      3. Next, Raid Leader and officers will take over to perfect the strategy at which time the VENT chatter will stop. We do not need multiple people in vent telling multiple strategies on how to do an encounter at this point.
      4. Finally the Raid Leader will explain what needs to be done and everyone is expected to give 100% to execute the strategy.
      5. New mobs may have a steep learning curve to defeat. This strategy may be repeated for pros and cons instead of trying to change everything after a few wipes.
    6. Alts in Raids and Looting

      1. Alts are allowed to raid with the guild, if they meet a specific need of a particular raid where a main character is unavailable to fill. The raid leader decides this at raid time.
      2. If your personal alt needs a quest update that may be accessed on a raid, post this need in the raid planning section of the forums. Permission to join will be at the discretion of the raid leader at raid time.
      3. If the raid leader has specifically asked an alt to be on a raid, the alt may bid on any loot that may drop based on NBG policies. Bidding is done from and based on the main's DKP pool.
      4. If you are asked to 2-box a character on a raid you may bid freely for both of those characters, as they were needed on raid to help acquire our goal.
      5. If YOU ask to bring your alt instead of your main on a raid and the raid leader permits it, you will fall into the recruit order of the bidding process.
      6. Except for instances of class armor or weapons, alts are never allowed to zone in during or after a raid to get loot, only mains.
    7. Hopefully we never need to use this but we will if needed

      1. Not paying attention during raids will no longer be tolerated by the raid leaders. As such, they have been granted the permission to take away DKP for doing things such as, but not limited to:
        1. Hammering out of the zone. Make a macro to re-equip your reapons after you use your hammer.
        2. Ninja afks. Is it that hard to send an officer or raid leader a tell, or say something in your group?
        3. Constantly screwing up. If you know what to do, do it. You don't need to be reminded not to sprint when blue etc.
      2. Those are just a few examples. The amount of DKP is left up to the raid leaders.
  4. Non-Raid Status and Guild Removal

    1. Non-Raid Status

      1. If a member is to be placed on Non-Raid Status, they will be told WHY, HOW LONG, and any PENALTIES that must be covered.
        1. Penalties are things like paying back the funds for sold guild loot to the guild bank, apologizing to others in guild or players for behavior issues, Etc.
        2. Penalties are neither fines nor punishments for violations, but more a way to reset back to were things should be.
      2. To be removed from Non-Raid Status a member must fulfill the required time and penalty (if any), as well as sustaining no infractions during the non-raiding period.
      3. Upon being moved to Non-Raid Status all of that character's DKP is instantly set to 0, if it wasn't for an extended MIA.
      4. Once removed from Non-Raid Status, a member may begin to rebuild their attendance to get back onto raids.
      5. Depending on the issue or length of absence, the member may or may not be placed on the alt guild.
    2. Reasons for Non-Raid Status and Guild Removal

      1. Inability to raid (must be discussed with officers and posted in extended MIA)
      2. Disciplinary Action for Policy Issues
      3. Loot violations
      4. Behavior causing negative reputation to GoW
      5. At the discretion of the leaders, officers, and raid leaders.
        1. An officer, raid leader, or guild leader will not boot you from the guild just because they feel like it. You have more than likely done something to upset the officer core to have this happen.
  5. DKP, Loot, and Bids

    1. DKP

      1. DKP is awarded at the DKP officer and raid leader's discretion
      2. Should anyone leave the guild for any reason other than an extended MIA, or the Itama rule, their DKP will be reset to 0
      3. Members who are removed from the guild due to extended MIA, and don't keep it updated will have their DKP reset to 0 at the time guild splits are done.
      4. In general, members and recruits in raid earn 25 points of DKP per raid hour. Bonuses may be awarded.
      5. In raid also includes people who are sitting out but ready to raid.
      6. Loot will generally be posted under the DKP: 730-830 part of the raid for that day on the DKP site. The item name will not necessarily be posted.
      7. Members who do not update their extended MIA every 30 days will have their DKP reset to 0
    2. DKP for Sitting

      1. Camp your raiding toon at the entrance of the current raid zone (preferred), or be able to get your main character to the raid zone well within 5 Minutes.
      2. Remain on your main or a guild alt (that can and will read guild chat) and/or be in Ventrilo so that you can respond when the raid leader calls for you.
      3. Not be afk for long periods, or grouped in instances that would cause your delay in joining the raid should you be summoned.
      4. YOU MUST RESPOND, by tell or in Ventrilo, to the DKP accountant when a "sitting check" is called. This request may be made at least once per hour in both guild chat and Ventrilo.
      5. If you will be accessible only through Ventrilo, please send a tell to the DKP accountant to that effect.
      6. If the officers determine that someone is abusing this policy by consistently being late for raids to avoid raiding but still earn DKP, or by being afk repeatedly for "sitting checks", the individual will lose the ability to gain DKP while sitting.
    3. DKP Adjustments - Positive Amounts

      1. At times you may receive a positive adjustment to your DKP for various reasons:
        1. DKP Transferred from old DKP sites
        2. Contested Raids
        3. Cancelled raids
        4. Bonus DKP (if not added to the DKP for that night for whatever reason)
    4. DKP Adjustments - Negative amounts

      1. At times you may receive a negative adjustment to your DKP for various reasons:
        1. Not unequipping your hammer
        2. Continuously screwing up in a zone
        3. Not paying attention to the raid leaders (this includes ninja afks)
        4. Unposted MIA number 2 in a 30 day period
      2. The raid leaders will decide how much to take away for each offense.
    5. Loot

      1. We generally DO NOT stop raids for characters not on the raid to zone in and loot items. There are only two exceptions:
        1. On the final mob of an instance, or at the raid leader's discretion, a character may be invited into the raid, zone in, loot the item, and zone out.
        2. At the raid leader's discretion, should class specific set gear or patterns drop and no one on raid can make use of it, a raid may be paused to allow a character who has been legitimately sitting and is close by to zone in, loot and leave.
      2. We use an open bid system in which bids are given auction style in increments of 25 in guild chat (/GU).
      3. The first bid in guild chat is the official bid, if bids are duplicated, the second bidder may raise their bid or pass.
      4. Bids in guild chat (/gu) are binding. One may not withdraw a bid for any reason. If one errs, the bidder will still win the item and DKP will be deducted unless someone else places a higher bid.
      5. Members on Raid will be considered first for item acquired. If TRADEABLE LOOT drops, all members including those who are sitting can bid it on. An officer will loot the item so that stats are linked in guild chat. If you win, see the Officer after the raid to receive your item.
      6. Items may not be purchased with DKP or from the guild bank to be sold, traded or given away to anyone other than the member's own guilded alt(s). Attempting to do so will result in the member's DKP being set to zero for the first attempt and GUILD REMOVAL for the second.
    6. Bid Proceedure and Loot Priority

      1. The DKP officer or another officer if the DKP officer isn't present will say in guild chat start bids on a specific item, or tell a specific class/subclass/armor class to start bids to indicate a specific item is up for bids instead of typing out the item name, or may just say "start bids"
        1. Mains and raid leader approved alts may start bids
        2. If the raid leader didn't ask you to bring your alt, you must wait until recruits bid.
      2. Second Call is called
        1. This is a warning to get your bid in if you haven't, because no new bidders will be allowed soon
      3. Last Call - No new bidders is called
        1. Nobody else may start bidding
        2. This assumes that a member or raid leader approved alt bid
        3. Everyone in the bid may continue bidding until they call out.
        4. Once everyone is out, the DKP officer will call "Gratz winner XX"
      4. Last Call - Recruits Start bids
        1. Recruits, Non-Raid Status people, and alts the raid leader didn't ask to come may start bids
      5. Second Call
        1. This is a warning to get your bid in if you haven't, because no new bidders will be allowed soon
      6. Last Call - No new bidders is called
        1. Nobody else may start bidding
        2. If no one has bid, either guests roll or the item gets transmuted
        3. Everyone in the bid may continue bidding until they call out.
        4. Once everyone but the winner is out, the DKP officer will call "Gratz winner XX"
  6. Guild Leadership

    1. General

      1. Guild leaders, officers and managers are here to maintain the guild, run the guild raids and move the guild forward.
      2. Please do not take offense or argue with the leadership should you be corrected or are simply told to do something different.
      3. Current guild leaders, officers and managers may be contacted at any time with your questions, comments and concerns.
